Behind the Scenes
- No official credits were given when this story was first published, but the text Ö11 on the first page indicates that it is the 11th story drawn by Özcan Eralp. This practice of indicating the creators by initials and a serial number on the first page is still used on some comic strips produced in Sweden, but was abandoned rather quickly for "The Phantom".
- No writer was credited at publication. According to documents donated to Seriearkivet/The Comics Archive, Hans Jonsson did the rewrite of the story.
- In the original Swedish version, the name of Scorpia is misspelled on two occasions, as Siorpian and Scorpion.
- Like the story it is based on, there is no connection between the name Scorpia and the animal scorpion (besides the aforementioned misspelling). However, a competition on the editorial pages of the same issue of Fantomen that included this story makes this connection. That is the first published connection between Scorpia and scorpions.
- Scorpia's leader is never given a name or title.
