"The Governor's Family" is the 43rd Phantom daily story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Wilson McCoy.

Plot synopsis

The wife and spoiled son of the Governor of Bengali gets kidnapped by Sir Ali who wants the governor sign lucrative business contract. The Phantom manages to find the kidnapped wife and child and defeat Sir Ali's 200 hired killers.

Behind the scenes

Title panel.
  • The title "The Governor's Family" appears in the strip of September 21, 1951, although without the caption "Beginning:" that usually preceeds a story title. Besides, in the previous story "The Tiger Girl", the title "The Kidnapping" is mentioned in the last strip.
  • Bobby is also called Edmund at one point, which may be a mistake.
  • Skull ring is on ring finger, rather than middle finger.
