"The Crown Jewels" is a 1983 story, written by Peter Mennigen, with art by José María Ortiz Tafalla. It was intended for the Bastei Phantom series, but the series ended with #238 and the finished story was never published in its original form.
The artwork and script were later found, and given a new text by Peter Mennigen. It was published in Phantom 3 of the Phantom (Wick) series.
