Actually, if I recall correctly, this was the single DC PHANTOM cover that I did NOT color. As I recall, artist Luke McDonnell had provided a cover rough and DC decided to go with it as the color guide. I'm sure his intention was that the Phantom's costume was in shadow and thus more on the cooler blue side of the color spectrum, which also provided more of a contrast with the orangish-red flames in the background.
