What does "deleted" mean? Why was it "deleted"? Andreas 17:39, 18 January 2009 (CET)
- It's probably a wrong use of the term "deleted". I wanted to say the issue was no more available if someone, who had not bought it at its date of release, wanted to order it later as a back issue. The editor had normally a two or three years stock of back issues but this issue # 16 was not available after only some months and readers who were unlucky to purchase it originally were then disappointed to be unable to add it to their collection. - I see, but was this because it was so popular that it sold out quickly and still could not meet the demand, or were the back issues destroyed? (that's what I first believed that "deleted" meant) Andreas 21:46, 18 January 2009 (CET)
- I rather think – but maybe the real reason could be different – that, in the first times of publishing, each issue was released in a less number of copies. After that period, when the series found more success with a larger stock of new readers, there rarely were back issues out of order. With that, some back issues could have been more sought after than some others, and so, in that way, this issue # 16 might have been the first one out of demand. I don’t believe that old issues were destroyed – at least not before some years – as it was a long time still possible to order them near the editor, but that fact also changed when a new format-size formula was out in the seventies.
