Sir James Stanbury was governor of Jamaica in 1717 and the father of Flame Stanbury, who married the 9th Phantom.

Fictional Character Biography

According to Team Fantomen

In 1717 Sir James was governor of Jamaica but was arrested by colonel Tucker, falsely charged for treason and and thrown in jail. Later he was present in the Skull Cave when the 9th Phantom married his daughter Flame Stanbury. Flame

His wife died shortly before January 1725. At that time he lived comfortably in a house in London with several servants. King of Thieves

After some years in London he was living in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1729.

Behind the scenes

The real governor of Jamaica at the time that Stanbury was supposed to be governor was Peter Heywood, who was governor 1716–18.
