The Garden of Death Five Vikings, shipwrecked on the shore of Bengali, accidently discovered sleeping Shem and the mines. Ale, one of the Vikings, picked up the magical key from the hands of Shem and opened the gates of the mine releasing Bail by mistake. Bail was so angry that he imprisoned Shem in a bottle and threw it in the sea. The 3rd Phantom accidently came across the bottle and released him. Shem told the Phantom that he can have three wishes. The Phantom, believing it to be an illusion, asked Shem to put him down in the boat and save the life of his Mori companion. Both wishes were fulfilled. Subsequently when the Phantom was blinded by Lala Singh’s henchman Cyclop, he got his eyesight back through the third wish. Despite the three wishes having been exhausted Shem helped the Phantom reach back home from Lala Singh’s palace. The Garden of Death
