Johan L. Borgnes is a pen name used by Terje Emberland and Henning Laugerud when they wrote Phantom stories for Team Fantomen. The name Borgnes was also used by Emberland alone when he wrote the articles that introduced the fictitious Phantom researcher Kenneth Soames.
According to an interview in Bengal Times (1988), they originally intended to write Phantom scripts under the pen name Rein Alveland, which was a name they had used for an article in Fantomet 14/1988.
Johan L. Borgnes is very similar to the name of the author Jorge L(uis) Borges.
