Akuma (悪魔, meaning Demon in japanese) was the world's greatest assassin.

Akuma was often hired by the yakuza to murder gang members that they were not pleased with. One of these victims was the abusive father of Hozuki. After witnessing the murder, the grateful Hozuki thanked Akuma and would later train to become an assassin in his image. The Demon's Lantern

Dogai Singh hired Akuma to kill the Phantom, an assignment that ended with Akuma's death in Bengali. The Demon
