Site History
ChronicleChamber.com started life as a discussion forum. Created by Joe Douglas (who goes by the name Dougy on the CC and various other forums) in 2006, the web site came about later.

The ChronicleChamber forum was created because Douglas felt that the forum which he was visiting to discuss the Phantom and the various comics the character appeared in was too overrun by people who objected to those who had opinions that differed from their own. Other members agreed with Douglas and mentioned they would prefer a more respectable environment to discuss their hero. Douglas decided to take matters into his own hands and created the ChronicleChamber forums on April 4, 2006. Douglas made it clear that the forum was for peaceful discussion and any member found belittling or degrading another members opinion would be promptly banned. For the most part this has worked well and the forum has been fairly free of flame wars.

A few months after the forums opened Douglas decided to create an actual web site. The reason for this was firstly to house the forums but also because Douglas noticed that the most popular Phantom site at the time did not record all Phantom news. Douglas felt there should be a web site that provided news for all Phantom fans and for all aspects of the Phantom franchise.

The site opened in June 5th of 2006. Originally the site’s colour palette was a purple, grey and black palette and the site was somewhat difficult to navigate. After a few months Douglas closed the site for a few days leaving simply a “holder” page and a link to the forums at the http://www.chroniclechamber.com URL.

Soon the site was re-opened with its current black and white palette and layout. Navigation was much improved and the look of the site was not as jarring to visitors. Since this new black and white look the site has had a number of small alterations to improve navigation.

Content
At the time ChronicleChamber.com was opened the most popular Phantom site was mainly a site of reference. Douglas felt that this site was a very good source for Phantom reference so there was no point trying to emulate what was already a very good job. Instead Douglas decided his site would be a true fan site rather than a reference site so reviews, interviews and articles became common parts of the site. The first of these appeared in the now defunct e-newsletter The X-Band. When the site changed to its current form the articles, reviews and interviews were hosted on the site itself. Articles and reviews on ChronicleChamber.com are open to fan submission, as are many other aspects of the site. If a fan wishes to write a review or article and have it feature on the site all they need do is e-mail it to ChronicleChamber.com

Reviews
Reviews that appear on ChronicleChamber.com are all written by fans of the comics. Douglas himself has written a few as have regular forum posters such as Paul Andreas. Issues are reviewed and given a score out of five. Recently ChronicleChamber.com started a new kind of review called Bandar Review. These Bandar Reviews were shorter, one to two paragraph long reviews that could be written quickly. Douglas implemented them because he found that he did not have time to write the longer reviews that had previously appeared.
Interviews
One thing Douglas was suppressed by was that there were no interviews with Phantom creators on Phantom fan sites. Douglas decided to try and get interviews with some of the creators to feature on ChronicleChamber.com. The first of these was with Moonstone cover artist Doug Klauba. The interview was well received and many more such interviews have appeared on the site.

Articles
Articles on ChronicleChamber.com are divided up into three sections. The first is Talking Drums which are general articles about the Phantom, the comics and other aspects of the Phantom franchise. The second section is The Collector which features articles on collecting Phantom memorabilia. The final section is Web Articles. This is a list of reference for various Phantom related articles such as reviews and interviews that have appeared on sites not related to ChronicleChamber.com

Heroes and Villains
Heroes and Villains is a section of ChronicleChamber.com that aims to act as a reference for all the characters that have appeared in a Phantom story. No such reference existed previously on-line which caused Douglas to decide to add this feature to his web site. As will the articles, fans are free to submit their own entries for characters to appear in Heroes and Villains.

Other
ChronicleChamber.com also has wallpapers, music, the Phantom 2040 video game, images and so on for download as well as short biographies on Phantom creators and the various publishers who have released Phantom comics in the past and present and a section on the various TV and film appearances of the Phantom.

Criticism
Early in its history ChronicleChamber.com was criticized for having too much content focusing on the American Phantom publisher Moonstone and Joe Douglas himself was accused of being pro-Moonstone and ignoring the other publishers. Douglas defended the site and said the reasons for the amount of Moonstone content was that Moonstone released more information on their products than any of the other Phantom publisher due to the fact that they are part of the US comic marked that is much more competitive than the Australian or Scandinavian market so Moonstone has to release a lot of information on their issues to promote them. Also Douglas said that the artists and writers who worked on the Moonstone comics were a lot easier to approach than creators from other publishers in regards to interviews. Douglas defended himself by saying that while he enjoys the Moonstone stories he does not prefer one publisher over another and judges each story, regardless of publisher, on its own merits. He points to his review of Moonstone Phantom issue #13 as an example of this as he scored the issue only 1.5 out of 5.

In recent times these complaints seem to have subsided and there is much content form all publishers on the site.

Supporters
The ChronicleChamber.com site is supported by the Collectorz.com company and the Spider-Man fan podcast The Amazing Spider-Cast. Douglas has used the Collectorz.com Comic Collector data base program for a number of years and has submitted many Phantom issues to them for inclusion to their on-line comic database. In these submissions Douglas includes a link to ChronicleChamber.com. Collectorz.com has the right to remove this link but do not as they feel ChronicleChamber.com to be a good source for Phantom information. Due to this Douglas has placed a number of banners and links to the Collectorz.com comic database program on the site in a mutual support for both parties.

Similarly Douglas also supports the Amazing Spider-Cast podcast. Douglas is a fan of this podcast and sent podcast host Chris Johnson an e-mail asking if he could mention the podcast on the site. Johnson agreed and in return gave ChronicleChamber.com a plug on his podcast. Since then both parties have mutually supported each other.
ChronicleChamber.com also has profiles on the popular networking site MySpace and the comic networking site ComicSpace as well as a mailing list and guest book for the site.

Other References
ChronicleChamber.com also has profiles on the popular networking site MySpace and the comic networking site ComicSpace as well as a mailing list and guest book for the site.
Hello folks. I've noticed that some of the replicas issues I've entered are not showing up in numerical order. I can't seem to figure out the problem, anyone have any idea what it might be? Also, I think I'll simply leave the title extension as "Replica" as the shorter extension look a lot better on the page.

Cheers.
:Don't worry, I figured it out. I simply needed to put a 0 in front of the issue number is the Catagory information.
Reprint VS Original
The original printing and the re-print of this issue can be distinguished in several ways.
*The reprint has a bullet hole in the skull. The original does not have a bullet hole as it was thought to be too controversial at the time of its release
*The yellow on the cover of the original printing is a dull yellow. On the reprint it is brighter.
Hello folks. I've noticed that some of the replicas issues I've entered are not showing up in numerical order. I can't seem to figure out the problem, anyone have any idea what it might be? Also, I think I'll simply leave the title extension as "Replica" as the shorter extension look a lot better on the page.

Cheers.
Reprint VS Original
The original printing and the re-print of this issue can be distinguished in several ways.
*The reprint has a bullet hole in the skull. The original does not have a bullet hole as it was thought to be too controversial at the time of its release

Fictional Character Biography
The son of the 21st Phantom and his wife Diana Palmer-Walker, Kit Jr. and his sister Heloise grew up in the Deep Woods before moving to America to attend school. Both children looked up to their
father, but Kit in particular. Kit's childhood was a happy one so it is not known why he, in later life,
became so dark. The 22nd Phantom is regarded as the grimmest of the line, changing the
Phantom costume to a much darker purple and fighting viciously and violently, although he never
killed. It is not known what caused Kit to become so angered, but it is assumed that it has a lot to
do with the death of his father at the hands of General Bababu. Also, it is suggested that
something may have happened to his sister, Heloise, with whom he was very close. Kit and Heloise
worked together at the beginning of their carer as the Phantom, both taking on the role. It is
thought that Heloise was gravely wounded or perhaps even killed and that this had a great impact
on Kit. The fact that he named his daughter after her also suggests this.

Kit first came to prominence as the 22nd Phantom during the Kataba Mining scandal in which the
company tried to gain permission to mine the land of the Ituri tribe. The company was denied
permission however General Bababu, who had returned to Bengali and was behind the mining
operation plans, had the jungle Chiefs killed so their voices of protest could not be herd. Kit
exposed the truth and exiled Bababu from Bengali.

No other account of the 22nd Phantom is known.

Abilites
Kit Jr, like his father, is skilled in many forms of combat as well as being a superb marksman and an expert at fencing. Kit upgraded the Phantom costume so that it is made from body armour. He also included a number of electronics into the costume including, but not limited to, infer-red lenses in the mask and a small computer in one of the wrist bands.

Occupation
Like his father, Kit Jr. has no
occupation per-say. However, it is assumed
he still has much of the Phantom treasure and
this is how he affords his high-tech costume.
He retains the title of peace keeper in the
jungle but seems to not have as much
influence or dealings with the Jungle Patrol as
his father did.

Legal Status
Kit Jr. is a citizen of Bengali.
Like his father he was educated in America.

Allies
The 22nd Phantom seems to work
alone. The Bandar are still fiercely loyal to him
and he requires their assistance from time to
time. Guran supports Kit Jr. just as he did his
father

Place of Birth
As with his father, the Skull
Cave.

Marital Status
It is known that Kit Jr. had at
least two children, but it is not known who to.
His son, of course named Kit, became the
23rd Phantom. His daughter Heloise he
named after his sister.

Base of Operations
It seems Kit Jr. has discarded all of his fathers "outside" bases and works
exclusively from the Skull Cave.

First Appearance
Dougy: Moonstone Books is the current American Phantom publisher.

Moonstone Books began publishing creator owned comic
books in 1995. In 2001 they began publishing comics based upon licensed properties such as Buckaroo Banzai, Kolchak:The Night Stalker and, of course, The Phantom which has proven to be their most popular title.

Moonstone began publishing Phantom stories in 2002. Five graphic novels were released; The Singh Web by Ben Raab, The Treasure of Bengali by Ron Goulart, The Ghost Killer by Raab, Valley of the Golden Men by Tom DeFalco and The Hunt by Raab. The first three of these were collected in the
The Phantom: The Ghost Who Walks trade paperback.
These five graphic novels marked Moonstone as the first US
publisher to produce original Phantom material since Marvel
Comics cancelled their Phantom 2040 line in 1995.

The success of the Phantom graphic novels saw the debut of an on-going Phantom series in 2003. Written by Ben Raab, Rafael Nieves, Chuck Dixon and most recently Mick Bullock with art by Pat Quinn, Jerry DeCaire, Nick Derrington, Rich Burchett, Erik J and most recently Carlos Magno. Painter Douglas Klauba provided covers for most of the series as
well as some of the trade paperbacks. Klauba painted his last on-going Phantom cover for
issue #11, Joe Prado taking over with issue #12.

In 2006 Moonstone released the graphic novel The Phantom: Legacy. A very ambitious
project, Legacy is a re-telling of the origin of the Phantom line. Written by Ben Raab with
art by Pat Quinn the book was created to look like the pages of the First Phantom’s
Chronicle. Although some Falk purists were unhappy with the re-telling many Phans saw
the book as something of a masterpiece.

2006 also saw the début of Moonstone’s new graphic novel format wide vision which first
appeared in The Phantom: Law of the Jungle written by Joe Gentile with art by Paul
Guinan. Mike Bullock took over as regular series writer for the Phantom on-going series at
the end of 2006. His first issue Tiger’s Blood (#12) was well received by Phans.

Dougy: ChronicleChamber.com (also referred to as simply CC) is a Phantom fan site. It is up-dated bi-weekly with news on new comics, collectables, web sites and other Phantom related material.
